Addiction... The Demon Within 

 

We no longer live in a day when we can present kids with shocking statistics, gruesome stories, and "Just Say No" slogans in our efforts to educate them about drug addiction.  Kids of today's hi-tech electronic society are much better informed than the kids of the eighties and nineties.  Yet drug use and addiction is still a debilitating problem with today's youth, and it is vital that we educate them as well as adults on "real terms" in a fast paced, attention-grabbing teaching style. 

Addiction...The Demon Within, was created with these principles in mind and appeals to audiences ages 12 through adult.  This 23-minute video focuses on the story of Abbie, a young addict who shares with the audience her own personal journey through drug use and her life with the disease of addiction. She tells her compelling story of her first encounters with drugs, how that led to a life of crystal methamphetamine addiction, and her miraculous road to recovery.  Along the way we hear from experts in addiction counseling, law enforcement and from an inmate who also struggles with her own addiction to methamphetamine .

One unique aspect of Addiction...The Demon Within is in its focus on targeting drug addiction as a whole, rather than singling out one particular drug.  It presents drug addiction as it is:  a lifestyle-related disease.  Another unique feature is its approach to getting the message across to the audience in "real terms" without being obvious or deliberate in its delivery.  Addiction...
